Initial Authorization of Stay for Study Purposes - Procedures (ENGLISH)

IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOU ENTER SPAIN:

 

1.    Contact the Extranjería Office in Murcia to get their resolution in which it is explained that your initial period of stay has been approved. This procedure will be done via internet and telephone as follows:

 

 

Access the Extranjería Pre-appointment website:

https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/icpplus/index.html

 

 

a.    Select “Murcia” and click on “Aceptar”

b.    Select “Información” and click on “Aceptar”

c.    You’ll access a section where you can get more information on the documents to be provided. Click on “Entrar”.

d.    Enter the requested data and explain in "Observaciones" the reason for your inquiry: you must indicate that you need to obtain the Resolution of Stay (obtener la Resolución de Estancia)

e.    Extranjería will contact you by phone so that you can confirm the reason for your query, and then will provide the Resolution via email.

 

 

2.    You must then go to the National Police Station to obtain an appointment for fingerprinting and the issuing of your Tarjeta de Identificación de Extranjero (TIE: Foreigner's Identity Card).

 

 

This appointment can be obtained in two ways:

 

 

A. By accessing the website https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/icpplus/index.html and following the steps detailed below:

 

 

a.    Select "Murcia" and click on "Aceptar".

b.    Search for TRÁMITES CUERPO NACIONAL DE POLICÍA and select POLICIA – TOMA DE HUELLAS (EXPEDICION DE TARJETA) Y RENOVACIÓN DE TARJETA DE LARGA DURACIÓN.

c.    You will access a section where you can obtain more information about the documents that will be provided. Click on "Entrar".

d.    Enter the requested data, click on "Solicitar Cita" and follow the instructions.

 

 

B. Going physically to the National Police Station in Cartagena.

 

Once there, you will be able to fill out a form with your personal data and phone number, to which they will send an appointment via SMS.

 

3. On the day of the appointment for fingerprinting you must bring:

 

Application form model EX-17 (pdf), (http://extranjeros.mitramiss.gob.es/es/ModelosSolicitudes/Mod_solicitudes2/17-Formulario_TIE_FEB19.pdf) duly completed and signed by the interested party or their legal representative.
 

Proof of identity, original and in force. (Original and copy of the pages with content). Only the following are valid:
 

Passport from your country.


Registration certificate for undocumented foreigners issued by the Spanish authorities.


Foreign travel document, validly issued and recognized by Spain.
 

Proof of payment of the fee Model 790 Code 012 (https://sede.policia.gob.es:38089/Tasa790_012/) from the Ministry of the Interior. The copy must be correctly printed in its entirety, and under no circumstances may prints be made on which the bottom part of the document does not appear, with the annotation "Ejemplar para la Administración". The form can be downloaded from the Police website.
 

THE RATE PRINT CANNOT BE PHOTOCOPIED since each form is recognized with a unique identifier.
 

A recent color photograph of the applicant's face, size 32x26 millimeters, with a uniform white and smooth background, taken from the front with the head completely uncovered and without dark glasses or any other garment that may impede or make it difficult to identify the person (The photograph must clearly show the oval of the face, which includes eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth and chin, and must be of high resolution and on good quality photographic paper).
 

Copy of the Resolution given by Extranjería.
 

Certificate of current census (Empadronamiento) in case you have changed your address, (issued within the last three months). Original and copy.
 

If it is not the first time you have been issued a TIE, bring the previous one. If not, provide a report the loss or theft.
