International Relations

About Us

The University today plays a vital role in the long-term development of Europe. Therefore, the international relations sector is one of the most developed in recent times in all academic institutions. The construction of the European Union and the interuniversity mobility programs that such construction has generated, the cooperation programs of the Spanish Government and the U.E. with the Latin American universities, and more recently the launch of a common European university space, they have been, along with the general globalization movement that underlies them, determining factors in that development.

The UPCT favors the exchange of students, information and training media, through international agreements, participation in European university programs and other continents, collaboration with international organizations and their participation in networks and groups of universities of all the world.

The International Relations Service is the Administrative unit of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, which, under the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalization and Development Cooperation, channels internationalization and cooperation initiatives, and organizes and supports international student mobility , professors and administration and services staff, providing information and assistance in all their processes.

For the management of these tasks we perform the following functions:

  • Inform about international programs, grants and scholarships offered in the university world, promoted by public or private organizations.
  • Manage these programs for the benefit of the university community.
  • Advise the University Community on those initiatives that can promote internationalization and international cooperation.
  • Encourage exchange as an enriching activity for your teachers, administration staff and students.
  • Ensure the reception of international students visiting our university.
  • Promote the presence of UPCT in international networks and organizations.
  • Advise the Office of the Vice President for Internationalization and the rest of the governing bodies of the University on all matters related to the internationalization of the University.
  • Coordinate language courses to support the formation and international mobility of the university community, as well as the immersion of incoming students through Spanish language and culture courses.
